 The Reason Why?

As a student taking bachelor of secondary Education major in biological sacience, we are more dealing about human life while disscussing one of the component of the blood which is the erythrocyte. There is many question one question is why do women tend to have a lower erythrocyte count than men, I guess it is because women bleed regularly, women loose blood tru menstration and I think this is one of the main reason why women have lower erythrocyte count than men.

According to (christal21 2007) women bleed regularly more often man do and the hematocrit is inversely proportional to percent body fat, which is higher in men. Fats is more present in women when we have a higher level of fats in our body the hematocrit is lower and when we have a lower level of body fat the hematocrit is higher. Christal also cited that androgen is more present in men which stimulate red blood cell production thats why men have a higher erythrocite count.

  2. Hi Maria Jolina!
As I marveled through your blog, it is a common thing that as a teacher in Biological Science to raise questions about certain topicc in your major and I thought that it is good for women to bleed regurlarly because base from what I read it is good in our body that our blood replesnish to change the old blood in the body.
Some additional information said that Blood has three main functions: transportation, regulation and protection.

Our erythrocytes, or red blood cells, are the most abundant cell type in the human body. Additionally, erythrocytes are anucleated, which means they don't have a nucleus. This extra room allows for more hemoglobin to be stored in our red blood cells. Hemoglobin is a respiratory pigment, which binds to either oxygen or carbon dioxide. This allows oxygen to be transported around our body to our tissues and organs (and carbon dioxide to be taken away). Hemoglobin is largely comprised of iron, which when combined with oxygen, gives blood its red color. Additionally, blood helps cycle nutrients and hormones throughout our bodies.

  3. Yes. RBC levels are usually lower in women than men because men have a higher requirement (physically speaking) since there is muscle-mass in men than women. All muscles require molecular oxygen (O2) to function. So the more muscle present, the greater the need is for the oxygen. It is very important know why do women tend to have a lower erythrocyte count.

  4. Nice! Thanks for sharing this informations. It's also nice that you are knowledgeable about the course you're taking on. This blog will help students who seek for information on their studies. And for those people who want to add information to their pre-existing knowledge. Good!

  5. This blog is quite interesting especially for us women. Because we're experiencing this situations during our monthly periods. Having a visual in your blog makes it more interesting. In terms of the structure, kindly manage to use the right grammars, spellings and punctuation marks if ever you'll make another blog next time and for you to have better results as well. Elaborate and be more specific on your topic. But over all your did a good job.

  6. Red blood cells also called erythrocytes, are the most common type of blood cell and the vertebrate organism's principal means of delivering oxygen (O2) to the body tissuesvia blood flow through the circulatory system.
For the same reason that women are more often anemic than men and need iron in their diets. How is it that they bleed more? Men don't have to experience menstruation (periods). Women bleed regularly, and more than men do.
